“A TECHNO ALLIANCE” — Photo session
Conceptual photography inspired by the Carhartt WIP × Tresor Berlin collaboration.
The collaboration between Carhartt WIP and Tresor Berlin was the spark that ignited this project. Two names that embody worlds and values I deeply admire: urban fashion rooted in subculture, and one of the most influential clubs in the history of European techno. This connection became an excuse and a starting point to develop a conceptual photo session aimed at capturing the aesthetic and cultural essence of underground techno.
From its origins in Detroit to its expansion through Berlin in the 1990s, techno has never been just music it’s a cultural and social movement. Spaces like Tresor became sanctuaries of freedom, resistance, and community, and that spirit became the foundation for the art direction of this work, a visual homage to the raw energy of the scene.
The imagery revolves around black as the dominant color, direct flash lighting reminiscent of club atmospheres, and grainy, analog-inspired textures that enhance the feeling of immediacy. I wanted to portray that universe where bodies and identities blur under strobe lights, and only the collective experience matters.
The shoot was made using a Fujifilm X100V paired with a 40-year-old Yashica flash, creating a harsh contrast between light and shadow that reinforced the atmosphere I was seeking. The models Blanca and Claudia played a key role in shaping the narrative through their gestures, attitude, and styling.
Beyond the clothes or the initial reference, my goal was to build a photographic aesthetic connected to techno itself —images that express anonymity, strength, freedom, and belonging. A personal interpretation of a movement that feels close to me and has become part of my creative identity. Ultimately, this project merges my three main passions: fashion, music, and photography —and reflects how I understand image-making as a living document of contemporary culture.
