Editorial Design — Fanzine for LAUT Barcelona
Experimental editorial project created for LAUT, one of Barcelona’s most distinctive electronic music clubs. During my time in the city, I developed the idea of creating a printed piece that would compile the writings of Vanitydust, a key voice within the local scene.
The proposal: to design a fanzine that collected an entire year of parties, artists, and texts, originally written to accompany each club night.
Although the project was never officially published, I consider it one of my most representative works due to its documentary spirit and visual direction.
The concept was simple: to give fanzine form to the texts that introduced the artists each week. The design draws inspiration from Allen & Heath mixing console manuals a staple in electronic music setups and merges that technical aesthetic with the raw, DIY nature of the fanzine format: self-published, free, and without editorial rules.
Typographic contrasts, layered compositions, and visual rhythm define the layout, paying homage to the graphic language of the techno scene: industrial, functional, and bold.
Editorially, the goal was to give full prominence to the texts, treating them as the narrative core of the project. They are part of the club’s DNA —a written identity that framed each night’s experience. My intention was to preserve their tone while giving them a strong and expressive visual presence.
The result is a hybrid editorial object, halfway between archive and tribute a celebration of clubbing, community, and electronic culture in one of Barcelona’s unique spaces.
An exercise in experimental graphic design that blends editorial thinking, music, and visual storytelling into a tangible artifact.
